Ukrainian Armor Plate
Our level 4 steel armor plate is a field-proven ballistic solution produced in Ukraine and currently in use by the Ukrainian army. Each armor plate is tested and certified under NIJ Level IV, DSTU 8782:2018 (Class 4) protocols and meets strict NATO standards, ensuring it can stop armor-piercing rifle rounds.
The plate measures 250 × 300 × 28 mm (9.8 × 11.8 × 1.1 inches) and weighs 3.57 kg (7.87 lbs).
Built with an 8% anatomical curve, it fits the torso comfortably and is layered with anti-fragmentation ballistic felt and a rubber shock-absorbing pad to minimize secondary injury and blunt trauma. This is a genuine piece of military surplus, not a training replica, suitable for use in plate carriers, tactical vests, and full protection systems.
Armox 600T Material
At the heart of this ballistic armor plate is Armox® 600T, a ballistic-grade steel manufactured in Sweden. With a hardness rating of around 600 Brinell, this high-hardness steel is built to withstand repeated impacts from armor-piercing rounds such as 7.62×54mmR (0.30 inch, similar to .30-06 Springfield) and 5.45×39mm (0.215 inch, comparable to .223 Remington/5.56 NATO in performance).
Unlike fabric-based protection such as Kevlar, which stops rounds by flexing and dispersing energy, Armox works by sheer physical resistance — the steel either deforms or fractures the projectile before it can penetrate. It’s also more resilient in harsh field conditions, as it resists moisture, doesn’t degrade over time, and handles repeated use with minimal risk of failure.
For those looking for multi-hit protection and dependable long-term performance, Armox 600T is one of the best materials available.
Steel vs. Ceramic
While both steel armor plates and ceramic options offer high-level protection, the way they perform is quite different. Ceramic plates are lighter and absorb impact well, which helps reduce the force transferred to the wearer. However, they’re also more fragile — they can crack after a few hits or even from being dropped, making them less ideal for rough or extended use.
Steel plates, like this one made of Armox 600T, are heavier but far more durable. They can handle multiple hits without losing integrity, and they’re not affected by rain, drops, or extreme temperatures.
If you’re in a high-risk environment where gear is pushed to its limits — whether in a vehicle, checkpoint, or out in the field — steel is the more durable and dependable option.
